Hi - I have a bit of vision so I don’t know your needs but you could try a Blink camera and set it toward the area on motion. If you have the app, it will send you an alert. They work off WiFi and are inexpensive compared to others and easily set up. I don’t think you would have to subscribe to the service (cloud) for your purposes.
