[Cabs-talk] rumors and reality: cabs election?

Hello All,

I have recently returned from my second summer at the Colorado Center
of the Blind, having participated in NABS and the Colorado Student
Devisions activities over the summer, I am excited to be back in
California and eager to see our student devision evolve in the
upcoming year.

I too have heard many rummors about possible candidates, candidates
for positions that are not even up for election in this upcoming
meeting. I would find it benificial to have an open forum where
interested candidates, and interested members can discuss the future
of the California Student Devision, as a board, we have already begun
planning out the upcoming year, however, the membership as a whole has
a right to an oppinion, and to bring forth suggestions and interests
that could assist us to move forward. Having an open forum as Darian
has suggested can bring some balance and understanding to our
elections, increase the involvment, and simplify the process for those
who have only seen confusion. I am supposed to be on the inside, as a
board member, and I can honestly say I am still confused as to who is
running for what, why, and when. Meeting our candidates before the
election is an idea that can assist us greatly in making the right
decision for the new board.

Sincerely,
Aziza Cano
California Association of Blind Students
Secretary
