“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are
spiritual beings having a human experience.” - Teilhard de Chardin

Hi all,
I know that many of you have seen my posts, and that I've also
have had the pleasure of meetingsome on the list at one point or
another, but list serves always get new members and I figured I
would re-introduce myself.
My name is Darian. I am a student at city college of san
francisco, where I am in the process of earning general education
credits to transfer to a university (undecided to where this may
be). I am thinking that I may go for a degree in recreation, with
an eventual goal of a masters in orientation and mobility.
When I am not in class, I also serve on my college's student
council as a senitor, and enjoy the process of learninghow to
advocate for and serve a large student population.
In 2004, I graduated from the colorado center for the blind in
Littleton (outside of Denver), colorado. I Joined AmeriCorps in 2008,
and got alot of travel and hands-on service expirience in different
parts of the country, serving different communities with differing
socio-economic caricteristics and needs. I I graduated fromthe
AmeriCorps program I served in, July 2009.
I've been a member of the NFB for about nine years or so, and I
have had the absolute pleasure of meeting some of my good friends and
learning alot about myself within the time serving in chapters and
working along side and talking to people here.
at current, I am a member of the san francisco chapter, and I serve
as a board member and membership co-chair of the national association
of blind students, a division of the national federation of the blind.
I have enjoyed learning so much about leadership, and meeting so many
amazing and talented individuals that I work along side of on the
board. As well, I enjoy serving and getting to know so many of my
talented fellow students who do great things in the classroom, and
in the affiliatts and state student divisions all across the
country!
All this said, I look forward to getting to know all of you and
learning from you as well, as I have many questions I am probably
going to post to the list serve at some point soon.
Thanks so much for reading my mile-long E-mail.
   All the best,
  Darian
