[Cabs-talk] Traveling Independently in Southern California

Hello everyone,
This is a rather random question, but I would like to know...
Do you think Southern California (mainly Los Angeles and a bit of 
inland area and Orange County area) is accessible for blind travelers 
mostly using public transportation?
Is it something doable and reliable ?
Or is using Access Services necessary for efficiency?
Would it be possible to independently (with safety and efficiency) 
travel without riding the Access?
