Hi Everyone,

Thanks again for sharing information with me.

I'd like to give you all a bit of background on Bek and me and where we stand now, for those of you who don't know us. I served on the Board of the NM-POBC years ago and was involved in attending and planning events for the kids. Bek and I have been involved with the NFB Colorado Springs Local Chapter off and on, and I am currently on the Board of the CO-POBC. Bekah is finishing up her freshman year of high school. We are planning on sending her to the CCB for the summer program in the summer of 2010, if all works out. This summer didn't work for us. Bekah loves to write and draw, and is currently taking an art class to learn some skills to add to her already unique talent and style in this area. She also just started karate. Bekah loves children, and therefore, serves in the children's ministry at our church every Sunday. She uses her writing skills to write a story for the virtue of the month, in which she reads to the children at both services once a month; in addition to the other services she provides weekly on Sundays.

Well, that about covers it in a nutshell. I'm just trying to decide if CABS is the place for her to be. I need to know what all is involved in being a member of CABS, where meetings are held, what is expected of the members, etc. Do you have a mission statement? Also, she really isn't interested in going to Denver to be involved. Is there a chapter in the Springs? If not, hw many people are traveling to Denver, or "out of the Springs" for the CABS meetings? Perhaps we can develop a chapter here?

Thanks,

Lisa
