Thank you, Richie. This sounds like a basic approach. I participated in our Capital campaign for the Jernigan Institute and one for the Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation here. What we are trying to do right now is attract money for our operating expenses. Some donors specialize. But it is good to be aware of all the different approaches.

4 steps to a successful Capital Campaign
We have all heard of capital campaigns but not all of us have worked on one. The problem that many of us have with implementing a capital campaign is our definition of the campaign word.
A capital campaign can be designed and implemented for many things such as the growth of a program, agency equipment, refurbishing a portion or all of a building or, as most of us think of it, building or enlarging a building.
There is a great deal of up front work that needs to be done before you meet with your first prospect. Whether you are a small, medium or large organization, the same steps need to be followed, regardless of how the campaign is packaged.
Remember, a capital campaign, by definition, is time limited and has a beginning and end.
