Folks,
Hope all are well.

1) I will send out another email blast of the tool kit, with requests for
project updates from our network.
2) It's too bad that the quiz fizzled. speaking mainly on a personal note, I
really think our population is moving forward in the social media
department, I think at the very least, the blogspot idea helped us gain an
understanding of the economic possibilities of persuasion via the web. We
can benefit learning how to improve on this.
3) I can go either way with a national project. Making a challenge to
embrace a national effort can Take creativity out of the hands of local
affiliates. In some circumstances, this can be helpful, especially those who
may not have the resources, members, and experience. The hope is to prevent
a watered down approach and not cookie cut an event.
4) I would be glad to present on securing grants for state and local
initiatives, and emphasize how we can include the national office in these
ventures.
5) Is the newsletter a follow up to the toolkit? Should we keep the same
format, or infuse some changes to the information within the work? Either
way I enjoy working on those types of projects. I'm glad to continue being
the coordinator of that, working with the folks that helped last time, and
including new blood.

We have a meeting/program planned for Friday at lunchtime. I think we
should have some general discussion and hear from Parnell Diggs. I think
Richie should talk some about grants. Does anyone else have suggestions
that should be included in a one-hour program? Jean Brown, I will want to
hear about your walk-a-thons. Hoby, I still need to talk with you about
wine tasting.

If anybody else knows of an event not yet included in our Toolkit that has
already raised 5000 dollars or more, please bring it to our attention.

Do you think we should work toward coordinated walk-a-thons or bike rides? I
believe that Anil is not now going to take this on.

Have any of you had requests to advise other chapters or affiliates? I have
been asked to talk with a chapter in Indiana, and I already joined a
conference call in Montana. This is what we are for.

I am still receiving requests for the Toolkit. Richie, are you also? I
think we are going to include the list of services from the Jernigan
Institute in our newsletter. Others may want to do this or something
similar. This information was requested at our state convention this
weekend. We had three brand new members, and I wish I had taken it with me.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Ramona
