[Cccnfbw] A Germ of an Idea

Actually, the impression (and it is only that) is that ACB has more hams (or at least active ones) than NFB does. Perhaps they have more time on their hands? At any rate, in this state, there are to my knowledge only 4 hams; three are in our chapter and Ben Prows is also a ham although not on the air at the moment. Although there may be some I'm not aware of, WCB has 2 hams (Tim Schnebeck and Frank Cuta) that are, I think, active and Dan Tonge was a ham; dunno whether he still is or not.

Mike

I was thinking more in terms that many hams regard blind persons as miraculous persons, wondrously gifted in music, who have overcome overwhelming odds to be, well, normal, that is, we wouldn't be regarded as extraordinary were we sighted. I sometimes get the impression that we are regarded almost more as mascots than as real, flesh-and-blood human beings. As fantastic a musician as he was, I think Sparky fell into that category in the eyes of many. All I mean to say is that we must break out of that role.
