[CCCNFBW] The checkered eye movement

I can say that the NFB promotes the use of the white cane for everyone who is blind, meaning anyone who is legally blind. The part about someone seeing your cane over a counter, would mean to me that that persons cane is too short. I have seen a few instances when using a cane was a little awkward only because I was handling too many things at once, but my cane is top priority, because it is my eyes. For someone who doesn’t use it correctly, I could see where it might be a problem. I don’t go anywhere without my cane. I have one cane that is not collapsible, that I use when I’m out walking and another one that is telescoping, so it is more convenient. But I always use my cane. I am so greatful for the people at NFB that took the time to make sure I had the correct length of cane and gave me some tips on how to use it. I used a cane before NFB but they showed me how to use it better, and the one I had was way too short and very dangerous to use because it was too short. So, there you have it. So, Andrew I don’t know enough about to know what your visual acuity is, and how you use your cane, but if I can help yf I would be very glad to help you with your cane skills if you need that. Hey everyone!

Andrew here!

I follow a channel on YouTube that is run by a gentleman with low vision.

He and another individual have something that people with low vision can use as a good visual indicator for when you're in a situation where it is hard to always use your cane!

You can watch this video, and there is a link in the description below the video!

I think this is such a great idea, and would be very helpful!
