[Cinci-nfb] Facebook page is now live

Deborah. I’ll certainly do this, but just for my edification: is the Cincinnati Chapter designated officially as a nonprofit? I know the State Chapter is, but not sure about the Cincinnati affiliate. I know this topic came up once before at a Chapter meeting. If we want to change the category of our page to Non-profit, this could have some implications.

The best choice is the one that has precedent.  

In other words, can you check NFB national’s Facebook page and that of a few other states or chapters and see what the consensus is?  

Neither one is inaccurate – community or nonprofit – but I think the goal here is to be consistent with the rest of our organization.  

And as far as the work in progress piece of it, not to worry.  

The important thing here is that you have done something, started the ball rolling, and that is extremely commendable.

I’m fairly sure I can change the category from Community Organization to non-profit, but I do think we need to all agree to this. What do you all think.

my two cents is that is should have been created as a Non-profit Organization not a  Community Organization.

No Problem.

We still don’t have a cover photo or many of the 

Basics. I propose we either take a few minutes to discuss this at our next Chapter meeting or—more ideally—by email prior the meeting. I need the Chapter’s mission and any awards we’ve won (Will include the Gavel Award from State). Our Chapter meeting times and locations can always be updated through posts as well as other important events and topics of interest to the Blind Community locally.

I’ve already sent a list of invites to like the page last night including a few more Autism oriented folks from my friend lists with ties to the general special needs community here locally. With some attention and effort, I think we can make this page a wonderful recruitment tool.
