Dear Deborah: I agree that the walk should be held when the C.E.Os can
attend. I vote for October 22. Sincerely, Dale Barta

Dear Cinci NFB Chapter,

As indicated in Christopher Sabine's membership report, we encountered a bit
of a stumbling block with the White Cane event, and have come up with what I
hope you will all find to be a happy work-around.

It turns out that October 15 is also part of the National indistries for the
Blind conference, which both the CABVI and Clovernook CEO's and other key
staff will be attending.

Since October is meet the Blind Month all month, I suggested that we move
the walk to another date when all can attend.

The two dates suggested are October 20 and 22.

We agreed that Kathy Gottsleich of CABVI would research to make sure there
are no significant conflicts with other organizations holding events
downtown, and that I would check with all of you.

CABVI and Clovernook have provided tremendous support for this event in the
past and will do so again, so ensuring that the CEO's of each organization
is able to attend just makes sense to me.

I invite all your feedback and will keep you posted with all and any
information as I have it.

Please let me know your thoughts either via this list or by contacting me
directly at

 <mailto:dkkendrick at earthlink.net> dkkendrick at earthlink.net

or by phone at 513-673-4474.

For those who are new to the chapter, the White Cane event celebrates the
independence and equality of blind people.

We meet at City Hall, make a short and usually lovely walk together from
City Hall to Fountain Square. On the Square, we share information about the
Federation and enjoy time with one another.

The entire event runs roughly from 10:30 to 12:30, and has become a great
opportunity to remind our fellow Cincinnatians that we are here!

Welcoming your input!

Deborah
