Hello VP Albers and chapter members,

In my opinion, this is a unfortunate situation, but not a deal breaker. This
is a very important event for our cause and the dollar amount to facilitate
it should not be an issue. Again, this is just my opinion.

Subject: [Cinci-nfb] Update on Meet the Blind Month Event

Hello Cincinnati Chapter,

I need to update you on our Meet the Blind Month event on October 2 at
Fountain Square. There have been some unfortunate administrative fee changes
since we have held our last White Cane Walk that I was not aware of until I
received the official table rental estimate back today. There is now at
$25/hour fee for a Site Manager charged for each event and a 15% service fee
on top of all charges. This being said, I no longer reserved the two tables
and six chairs from 9 AM - 4 PM, but rather 10 AM - 2 PM. This means the
chapter will be charged $100 for a Site Manager, $30 for two tables, $6 for
six chairs and $20.40 in service fees. The grand total is $156.40.

The event has been approved by the chapter, the cost involved at that time
was $36. I do not want to scrap the event due to the additional fees. This
is now the going rate for this type pf downtown exposure. Please let me know
if this needs further discussion by the board. I have already spoken to
members of the Fundraising Committee. Thank you.

Best Regards,

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
