Subject: [nagdu] NAGDU Photo Contest

Please distribute the following message as widely as appropriate.

Dear All,

                The National Association of Guide dog Users, a strong &
proud division of the National Federation of the blind, will be revamping
their brochure, Meeting a Working guide dog Team. Since the last printing
about a year ago, we have a new brand, a new logo, a new NFB president, and
a new mobile app that needs to be included in the brochure. We are currently
tapping in to our artistic resources to create a brochure that is as dynamic
and cutting edge as our organization. We need your help to make it so!

                We are asking you to submit high definition photos to be
used in our brochure. These photos should depict blind people using guide
dogs in everyday life. They should convey the message that the national
Federation of the Blind believes that blindness is not the characteristic
that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of
blind people because low expectations create obstacles between blind people
and our dreams. You can Live the Life You Want. Blindness is not what holds
you back!

                Here are a few thoughts:

1.       The picture should depict movement;

2.       The picture must be of a blind person working a guide dog;

3. Consider how we can communicate such things as

a. Blind people have the right to access taxicabs, restaurants,
hospitals, hotels, etc. accompanied by their guide dogs;

b.      Blind people who use guide dogs live full and active lives;

c.       Blind people who use guide dogs are employed in a variety of jobs;

d.      Blind people who use guide dogs have families;

e.      Blind people who use guide dogs have fun;

                Submissions will be judged on the quality of the photograph,
its creative style, and how well the picture portrays the message NAGDU
wants to communicate. The prize for the best submissions will be inclusion
in our brochure. Submissions should be sent to

info at nagdu.org

no later than Sunday, December 14, 2014. Our target release for the new
brochure is January 2015.

                If you have any questions, you may also send them to the
above email address. We look forward to receiving lots of pictures and
creating an awesome brochure!

Fraternally yours,

Marion Gwizdala, President
