I had meant to provide you with thisinformation at our last NFB state convention bin Denver, but some problemsituations developed and I was unable to do so.
 
I am currently employed as an Advocacy Specialist at theColorado Springs Independence Center. We provide a variety of services to ourconsumers and to the community at large including The Accessibility Store.
 
The Accessibility Store was founded in November of2010.  It is a supplier of products for peoplewho are blind or have other disabilities including hearing loss and mobilityissues. The products available for purchase by blind individuals andorganizations include but are not limited to:
·       Mobility and support canes
·       Braille, large print, and talking watches,
·       Hand held or reading lights and standmagnifiers,
·       Check and other writing guides,, raised linechecks, and large lined writing paper,
·       Materials for marking clothing, appliances, andother household items,
·       Talking clocks and watches, and reading lightsand products which can be used to mark appliances, clothing, and other commonhousehold items.
·       Kitchen and laundry aids,
And much more.
 
Shannon Lee and her staff are wonderful to workwith.  I’m not simply saying that becausewe work for the same company.  It’sTRUE!! If there is something in adaptive equipment, hardware, or software youneed and they don’t have it, they’ll research the situation and if, after theirresearch, they will keep you informed as to how to secure what you need.
