[Colorado-talk] Automated Stop Announcements

The automated stop announcement system is rolling out first in Boulder then
moving on to the Denver Area. I have heard it on a few buses up here now,
and it's quite nice.
When all things are working correctly here are a few things to look forward
to.
As the driver opens the door the outside speaker announces the bus route and
destination direction. As the bus travels the stops are announced in a
clear voice, a little slow for my taste, but excellent anyway. When someone
pulls the cord to request a stop the system says "Stop requested."
I haven't ridden the buses when they are really noisy and crowded yet, but
those of us who went on demonstration rides were told that the system cannot
be turned off by the drivers.

I hope this helps.

Maryann Migliorelli
