Ryan,

I've not bought tickets online.  I've taken Bustang a couple of times
going north, and never had any trouble getting tickets on the bus.  I
suspect the C-Springs route is a little more densely packed.

There's an iOS app as well, but it requires setting up an account
also, and I've never bothered.
