Subject: [Colorado-talk] Aurora Chapter/ Emergency Preparedness Exercise

Hello fellow federationist,
Instead of having our regular chapter meeting which normally takes place on the fourth Saturday of each month, the Aurora chapter will be participating in an emergency exercise with TRI County Health and the city of Aurora. It is important that we have visibility in our community and take advantage of the opportunity to share our thoughts regarding the implementation of emergency procedures which may effect us as citizens of the city of Aurora and Arapahoe county.
Below you will find pertinent information regarding this emergency exercise.

Public Health Exercise

Date: June 17th, 2017
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Overland High School, 12400 E Jewell Ave, Aurora, CO 80012

Boxed Lunch will be provided

What you will be doing:

- Participating in a highly interactive Emergency Preparedness Training and Focus Group Planning Session.

o Learn about emergency preparedness planning for the community.

o Learn about individual emergency preparedness in the Are You Ready? Training course.

o Walk through a Public Health Point of Dispensing (POD).

o Participate in a focus group so that emergency planners can get feedback and recommendations from you to be able to plan for a variety of capabilities during an incident requiring government emergency response plans to be activated.
Participants will receive emergency preparedness information, tools, handouts and equipment to start or add to an emergency preparedness kit.
