Hi all,

I was successful running Jaws Picture Smart on the

https://covid19.colorado.gov/data

site.

I had to use g to move to graphics, and found that when I run this tool in Chrome it actually works.

I started at the top of the page, and hit G six times. This moved Jaws focus to the “Data Visualization” graphic area. I then hit insert + Space followed by P followed by C. This ran Picture Smart on the graphic. The results included:

Caption is a screenshot of a cell phone.

This text appears in the photo

216
cases.

These tags describe the photo

Font, Product, text.

These tags probably describe the photo

design, Logo, screenshot.

These tags possibly describe the photo

abstract, Beige, Brand, Graphics, Label, Rectangle.

Although in this case I was able to obtain the desired information, I found the other graphics pretty useless.

I think this is not simple for the average user, but it can be done.

Hope this helps, stay healthy everyone!

I looked at the site. There are two maps of Colorado and several graphs on the site.

I can verify what Christina has said. The last data on the first site she referenced is as of 3:00 PM on Monday, March 16.

The second site: https://covid19.colorado.gov/data <https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcovid19.colorado.gov%2Fdata&data=02%7C01%7C%7C7c56b2870bbf4b0a90c208d7cb89b87a%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637201664669818633&sdata=88y8Z%2F%2FsPsbEVlQNGgLh3enIfGGHtSmxhQVTfaDmet4%3D&reserved=0> yields no useful results. I can't even detect the images regardless of what browser I use—and I have four of them on this machine.

I'm trying to be kind, but it is rather difficult.

Cordially,

Curtis Chong

In previous days, I was watching the numbers of Covid19 cases and statistics by all of colorado, county, age, etc. It was a Google Doc that was updated. Now when I go to that site, according to my screen reader, there does not appear to be any text information. That website was https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vRSxDeeJEaDxir0cCd9Sfji8ZPKzNaCPZnvRCbG63Oa1ztz4B4r7xG_wsoC9ucd_ei3--Pz7UD50yQD/pub <https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fdocument%2Fd%2Fe%2F2PACX-1vRSxDeeJEaDxir0cCd9Sfji8ZPKzNaCPZnvRCbG63Oa1ztz4B4r7xG_wsoC9ucd_ei3--Pz7UD50yQD%2Fpub&data=02%7C01%7C%7C7c56b2870bbf4b0a90c208d7cb89b87a%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637201664669828644&sdata=0rRNedI276fNvzdOPWbOIKHdYsXum9%2BC291%2B%2FFJ1sjs%3D&reserved=0>

Now the state launched a new website to see those numbers. I visited this website using Voice Over on Safari on my iPhone. It seems as though all of the data is in some kind of image, and I can’t figure out a way to get this data., So either the data is completely inaccessible to screen reader users or there is a trick on iOS or with another screen reader to get the info. Can anyone get the data from this link? Or does anyone know of another source with text data that I could use instead? Here’s the link to the new state website. https://covid19.colorado.gov/data <https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcovid19.colorado.gov%2Fdata&data=02%7C01%7C%7C7c56b2870bbf4b0a90c208d7cb89b87a%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637201664669838649&sdata=Uzk%2F3%2F9Flu3h2C5fZ0PhASs4bjQJHaKhaMdc9%2BjlnlU%3D&reserved=0>

Thanks so much,

Christina
