[Colorado-Talk] Oxygen tanks

Hi Jim,

I am totally blind, so don't have the option of looking at anything. I have an air compressor for at home. But the oxygen tanks, I believe the ones I have have a color indicator for amount of oxygen left. I know the larger of the tanks I have is supposed to last about 3 hours. So if I needed to, I could try to keep track that way. I happen to live with a sighted person, so rely on him for help. But I've thought about possible alternatives. I think I'd have to rely on something like Aira, because at this point, I don't have an accessible way to know. I also have a very difficult time with changing the regulator, as I have small hands, and some arthritis. They just started me on oxygen at the beginning of October. But if I have to be on oxygen long-term, I'm going to look into getting a portable air compressor. Hope this helps.
Warmly,
Doula

Thanks for responding. Are you using the compressed oxygen tanks? Mine has a very small gauge to show how much oxygen is in the tank. I put the tank close to my face to read it. If I were totally blind, I couldn’t read it at all. I was wondering if other blind people had the same issue and how they delt with it. I use pulse system. I asked Lincare which is my oxygen provider and they had no solution.
