I am sorry for any inconvenience this caused. you.  There is an explanation.

We had software problems on NFBNET.ORG and it was 
unable to deliver mail for a good while.  We 
eventually got it fixed, when it proceeded to 
deliver the backlog of mail.  There was no way to 
sort out expired mail, without further delaying all the mail for everyone!
