I received the below email the other day.  I have friends who visited Meow Wolf and they gloat about their experience as though they had the best meal they ever tasted, heard the best music they ever heard, experienced the most fantastic aroma they ever smelled … !!  Our own Brenda Mosby worked with Meow Wolf to ensure it is accessible.  Offering free admission for the accessible tour is a very wonderful commitment on the part of Meow Wolf.  The admission is $35 for those of who are Colorado residents.  I encourage everyone to sign up and experience Meow Wolf!!  I am looking forward to the experience.

My name is Beth Rypkema.  I am an Audio Description Specialist and Cultural Accessibility Consultant living and working in Denver.

I am thrilled to announce a live Audio Description Tour at Meow Wolf Denver’s Convergence Station!  Meow Wolf Denver has created a groundbreaking two-hour Audio Description Tour, Highlights of the Convergence.  Designed specifically for audience members who are blind or have low vision, the tour allows for a more inclusive experience of the exhibition by means of descriptive narrative, storytelling, touch exploration and play.

 Audio Description is a new endeavor in immersive arts and the Highlights Tour  expresses Meow Wolf’s commitment and approach to radical inclusivity.

I first visited Meow Wolf Santa Fe, The House of Eternal Return, in 2016, shortly after it opened.  I immediately felt I had found an art experience I had been looking for all my life but didn’t know it.  I was deeply inspired; my mind filled with hopes, dreams and ideas to bring an audio described encounter to both the Blind/low vision community and to Meow Wolf.

We’ve been working on this tour for over a year and we’re very excited to share it with you.  Our first two tours will be in December — on Wednesday, December 1, and on Saturday, December 18.
