Subject: Request for Participation: Chessboard Usability Study
Dear Maryann Migliorelli,
My name is Moe Manshad, and I am an assistant professor at the University of
Northern Colorado, Greeley. I'm reaching out to share an exciting initiative
we're undertaking aimed at enhancing the chess-playing experience for blind
and low vision individuals. Our team has developed two innovative chessboard
prototypes, and we are now at a crucial stage where feedback from the
community you represent is invaluable.
We have organized a usability study from Saturday, March 30th, to Monday,
April 8th, designed to evaluate these prototypes. To ensure this study
accommodates any participant's schedule, we are offering a wide range of
times, including weekends and weekday evenings. We are committed to making
participation as convenient as possible, offering the flexibility to meet at
participants' preferred locations or at the University of Northern Colorado.
This initiative is not just about testing a new product; it's about creating
something that can genuinely improve the quality of life and enjoyment for
blind and low vision chess enthusiasts. Participants will be compensated for
their time, with each session designed to be brief, lasting no more than 20
minutes.
Your role in this process is critical. We are asking for your support in
disseminating this information among your members and encouraging
individuals who might be interested in participating to reach out. This is a
unique opportunity for them to contribute to the development of an
accessible chessboard designed with their needs in mind.
For more details or to schedule participation, please contact me via email.
Your cooperation could make a significant difference in bringing this
project to fruition, and we appreciate any assistance you can provide in
reaching potential participants.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to the
possibility of working together to make chess more accessible for the blind
and low vision community.
Warmest regards,
Moe Manshad
