Howdy friends,
While we strongly encourage our brothers and sisters, families, and friends to join us in person. Your Downtown COS Chapter will now be offering a Zoom option. It's more fun in person at Avenue 19, 19 N Tejon St, Tuesday, April 15th. Zoom time 6 pm. Next Tuesday's special guest will be James Probe. Mr. Probe and his family have been entrepreneurs and African American civil rights leaders in our community for many years. I think you will enjoy hearing his perspective on building social action movements and entrepreneurship. Although he is not blind. He gets it! Thanks to Aberham Fisher for booking our special guest. Some of us come a little early for a bite. We bring down the gavel at 6 pm. We adjourn no later than 7:15. Some federationists stay after for a beverage and a bite. If you have questions or require transportation, please be in touch with me 303-929-2369. We will send out a Zoom link in the next few days. At the meeting, we will also be talking about the Saturday, May 17, roadshow/resource fair. We will be talking about our bowling events coming up. I will report on lack of cooperation Colorado Springs Center for Independence, and we will be talking about our Bell/Confidence camp for kiddos to be held this summer.
Remember our meeting is upstairs, right across from Upstate Pizza. Upstate Pizza is known as one of the truly great pizza shops in the Springs. The only place to get better New York-style pizza would be in Brooklyn.
Remember that we also have the Olympic City chapter. It will meet this Saturday morning at 10 am. I'm told they are planning a taco bar after their meeting. The Olympic City chapter meets at Wyndom Place Apts, 350 E. Las Animas. Along with their regular agenda, the chapter will also be talking about the roadshow resource event and our Bell/Confidence Camp.
Remember, Olympic City Chapter and Downtown COS Chapter are not rivals. We are collaborators and colleagues in the movement to change what it means to be blind in southern Colorado. Some folks have been known to attend both chapters in person. All are welcome with love, hope, and inspiration.
😎
At your service,
