Full-block construction fencing has been removed between Welton Street and Glenarm Place (block 9), and Phase 3 of renovations has officially begun!

During Phase 3, the project team completes any final, small-scale work while the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District (BID) begins installing the final furnishings, fixtures and equipment along 16th Street. The installation of the final touches including furniture, planters, trash cans and other special elements that will introduce the New Look<https://cig-pr.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fc34ba15e6547b8d998f63f6a&id=48479220c5&e=0e4069ae0b> on 16th Street may occur after Phase 3 of construction is complete, depending on the BID’s schedule, timelines of deliveries and weather.

These activities could have safety fencing or cones around them, but only in the area where crews are working. The BID will work directly with property owners to coordinate patio installations following the installation of these final touches.

Installation of the Aspen Forest play structure between Glenarm and Tremont (Block 10) has begun! Crews are working diligently to deliver and assemble this highly-anticipated, interactive feature on 16th Street.

When finished, the Aspen Forest play structure will be a series of vertical columns that represents the abstraction of a grove of aspen tree trunks that you would see throughout Colorado. Nestled up in the “trunks” will be a nest-like feature containing multi-level straps, ropes and platforms allowing kids to play in the structure. At ground level will be a smaller, ADA accessible nest with similar features. At the top of the structure will be a series of abstract yellow leaves that will provide shade and weather protection. Head downtown to experience this exciting development on 16th Street!
RTD Free MallRide Detour Update

The shuttle will travel on 16th Street for three blocks between Larimer and Curtis streets and return to 15th and 17th streets between Curtis Street and Civic Center Station. Flaggers and signage will direct travelers to the detoured route.
