Greetings Colorado,
Just wanted to report on another successful Downtown COS Chapter meeting last night. Great discussion. New people. Great pizza and cupcakes from Abe and Shannon. Great energy. Thank you. If you are ever in or around Colorado Springs on the 3rd Tuesday evening of the month, visit us at the Downtown COS Chapter.
And you are all cordially invited to our annual summer picnic. September 6 from 11 until 3ish. AT Thorndale Park, 2310 W Uintah St., We would love to have some of our Pueblo friends come up. Perhaps a few of our Northern Front Range friends could come down. We are planning for brisket, mac and cheese, beans, potato salad, desserts, and more. You must please RSVP by September 1. And if you are interested and willing to bring a dish, please include what you are bringing in your RSVP to me, kevan at nfbco.org<mailto:kevan at nfbco.org> 303-929-2369. The event is cohosted by our friends at the Olympic City chapter. There will be fun and games, and special guests. And there will certainly be the traditional tug-of-war. Julie and Claton will be bringing the rope. Sounds like we need people from Wild West.
If you have questions, please ask. Remember, this is not only a tradition for all of us to get together, break bread, and toss a ball around. It is also for building our chapters in southern Colorado. "If you feed them, they will come." And they will learn more about who we are, our philosophy, and the great work we do. When they get to know us, blind, low vision, and their families will come to join this wonderful family of ours.
Let's go build the National Federation of the Blind!
At your service,
Kevan Worley

The National Federation of the Blind is a community of members and friends who believe in the hopes and dreams of the nation's blind. Every day we work together to help blind people live the lives they want.
Colorado Center for the Blind believes when you believe in yourself and experience a thriving community of positive blind people, nothing can hold you back from pursuing your dreams.
