Hi Jess and All!Thanks for sharing. Janeen definitely loved the state, and loved hearing all about the colorado state conventions. Janeen and I were together on and off, and super close for almost 6 years, so now that the shock is wearing off, the sadness and grief are real.Since Janeen and I co-owned a radio station together, we will be doing a tribute for her in the near future, which I'll announce, too. From DavidFrom: Colorado-Talk <colorado-talk-bounces at nfbnet.org> on behalf of Jessica Beecham via Colorado-Talk <colorado-talk at nfbnet.org>Sent: Saturday, January 17, 2026 4:35 AMTo: NFB of Colorado Discussion List <colorado-talk at nfbnet.org>Cc: Jessica Beecham <jbbeecham at gmail.com>Subject: [Colorado-Talk] Passing of Janeen Flanigan Hello everyone, I’m sorry to share very sad news. Many of you know Janeen Flanigan. Sadly, she passed away on January 8th. She attended some of our state conventions and NFB of Colorado events. Even when she wasn’t in attendance, she often reached out and supported our auction and other affiliate endeavors. While her home was in Florida, she made a second home here in Colorado and we will miss her. The below Facebook post was posted through her account today. David Dumphy did let me know last week but I wanted to find out more details about any arrangements or requests for support, donations in memorium etc I did reach out And ask if any support was needed Or if there was anywhere that we could make a donation in her memory. At this time, there is no immediate need or request for donations in her memory. Please join me in sending love, prayers, good wishes, and support to David and the rest of Janeen’s loved ones. Best WishesJessSee below from Facebook: Image description: photograph of Janeen smiling in a field of sunflowers. She has long poofy brown hair and sunglasses resting on top of her head. Her shirt is green and sleeveless. Orange text with black outline on top reads "Janeen Lea Flanigan December 13, 1974 - January 8, 2026".From Dan: I apologize if this is how you're finding out. Holly and I tried to contact everyone we could think of, but a few always slip through the cracks. Janeen tragically did not recover from a fast-spreading infection of necrotizing fasciitis (flesh-eating disease). She went through surgery to remove it on the night of January 3 and was placed on a ventilator and under heavy sedation. The damage was too severe and her organs began to fail. She was declared deceased just before 10 pm on Thursday, January 8.We are planning a celebration of life to be held in the future; please stay tuned for details. If there is any way that you feel that you could help, if there is anything of Janeen's that you think she would have wanted you to have, or if you just want to talk about how loving and amazing Janeen was, please contact Dan or Holly.
