Kristin Corash recently released the following memo. Here it is for your edification.

Dear Colleague:

DVR is currently serving more people than ever before, and more individuals with disabilities are entering the workforce. The demand for services is increasing faster than the available staff and financial resources can support. When DVR cannot serve all eligible applicants immediately, federal law requires a waitlist, based on disability priority category. As the most effective method for managing costs, a waitlist will help DVR staff continue to provide critical, individualized services.
Effective January 28, 2026, all individuals who are currently eligible for DVR services but not yet in a plan for employment will be placed on a waitlist. Anyone who is determined eligible on or after January 28, 2026, will also be placed onto a waitlist. People we serve with an established Individual Plan for Employment as of January 28, 2026, will continue to receive services regardless of their priority category. Students receiving Pre-Employment Transition Services (pre-ETS) will also continue to have access to pre-ETS. In addition, all current and future applicants will continue to be evaluated for eligibility determination and placement into a priority category.
Determination of an individual's disability priority is based on the number of serious functional limitations an individual experiences as a result of a severe impairment, the number of core services required to address their rehabilitation needs, and the amount of time required to provide those services. Based on this information, all individuals deemed eligible for DVR services are placed within one of the following priority categories:
1.           Eligible individuals with the most significant disabilities
2.           Eligible individuals with significant disabilities
3.           All other eligible individuals with disabilities
When DVR is able to release eligible individuals from the waitlist, we will release eligible individuals based on their disability priority and in the order their applications were received. Individuals on the waitlist will be provided with information about helpful goods and services offered by other statewide workforce investment system partners, as well as other programs that may be able to assist. You can use our support finder to find resources for the people you serve.  DVR will continue to closely monitor its resources to serve more people as soon as possible, and work together with our partners and business relations team to support Coloradans with disabilities.
