Greetings:

Last Thursday, June 18, I had sent out an email to this list regarding
GoodMaps testing at the Denver International Airport. It was brought to my
attention that the flier referenced in the email was not accessible to
screen readers. I notified our contacts at the Denver International Airport
about this inaccessible flier.

I have now received an email containing a more accessible version of the
flier, and I am pasting it below for your convenience. I will tell you all
that I am quite put out that the testing period runs from June 22 through
July 10 and walks right over the National Federation of the Blind Convention
which many of us will be attending. This test period screens out a lot of
blind folks whose contributions would be invaluable to the determination of
whether or not the GoodMaps technology would be useful to the blind at the
Denver International Airport.

People who have an interest in this should register to participate in the
GoodMaps evaluation. I excerpt the ways you can sign up here.

Subject: Request for Feedback on Email Accessibility & GoodMaps Testing
Opportunity

Hello DAAC Members,

We wanted to share a quick update regarding our recent email communications.

Our team is currently exploring the use of Constant Contact as a tool for
distributing information to external stakeholders. One of the reasons we are
evaluating this platform is its ability to provide data and analytics that
help us better understand engagement with our communications.

However, we recently learned that some content sent through Constant
Contact, particularly flyers and other image-based materials may not be
fully accessible to individuals using screen readers. We appreciate the
feedback we have already received and are actively reviewing this issue.

To help ensure everyone has access to the information, we have included an
accessible text version of the GoodMaps testing opportunity below. We would
also appreciate any feedback you may have regarding the accessibility of
Constant Contact emails or any challenges you experience accessing our
communications. Your input will help us determine whether this platform
meets the accessibility needs of our community or if we should explore
alternative communication methods.
