Hi--
I have found three resources of volunteer opportunities.
1 Newspapers, The newspapers have a section for local volunteer
opportunities. If you are signed up for Newsline and get your local
newspaper, you are good to go.
2 Volunteer centers, All counties do have a volunteer center as part of
community service projects. They are run by volunteers for getting new
volunteers. They always have a list of all volunteer opportunities for
individuals and families to find.
3 from friends, The best and last resource is your friends and
neighbors. Ask them and they have opportunities for you.
I have found all these resources helpful. Lets find a community project
in October.

Subject: [Community-service] How to find an opportunity

Hi all,
I've noticed this list has gotten a little quiet as of late, so I
figured it was time to change it a little.

One of the biggest questions that seems to come up is mostly about how
to find a volunteer opportunity in one's local area. In the experience
of the folks on this list, what have you found worked for you?
Was there a website? App, Facebook group, twitter account, hotline,
person you know, etc?
what advice do you have? words of wisdom do you have to share?
  Thanks,
  Darian
