in  addition to what has  already been said, I would say that it would be a helpful thing to be active in your chapter/affiliate.  The  you never know what  funding is   available in state, and they like to make sure the money is going to good use on a person who’s seriously interested in taking  advantage of   all that there is to offer  regarding convention.
