[Community-service] Community-Service Digest, Vol 76, Issue 2

Although this isn't the same, one time when we had Pathfinders here, a thing
where older people were mentors to kids, an activity we did was to build
birdhouses for wood ducks. They were sure not Habitat for Humanity Houses,
but there were people there to assist, For those who had done nothing like
that before, they helped us figure how. I held the screws while my partner
turned them so they could go in straight. This guy was amazed and said, "Why
it was just amazing. One held it and the other one screwed [it]. But there
are ways, and I am sure that the plan includes them knowing that around 30
blind folks are going to show up and lend their efforts/support/knowledge.

I'm sure you won't be constructing the whole house. There are many things
that can be done. I'm not handy or good with tools in any way, but I've
sanded floors, put down vinyl tiles and did all the prepping before
painting. I'm sure there are blind people out there who really have
knowledge and experience who can do far more than me.

How is it possible for a blind person to construct a habitat for humanity
house? This seems really impossible to me in my opinion.
