CNN) – January 20th is Inauguration Day.
A historic ceremony as the nation watches the swearing-in of president elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the first woman to take the office of vice president.
But the festivities will kick off before that; on January 18th Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
It’s a National Day of Service and the soon-to-be president and vice president are going to be part of it and you can too.
There will be service events all over the country, most of them virtual of course and you can sign up on the inauguration website.
The focus will be on COVID-19 relief everything from poverty, hunger, and homelessness to racial injustice, mental health issues, and educational disparities.
Then on the 19th, there will a national memorial to remember and honor lives lost to COVID-19.
Come Inauguration Day, the traditional parade will be virtual.
