Most players won’t play books from the local library unless they are compatible with the software that the library uses.  Michelle Laramie knows which players will work.  Maybe you can ask her.
I think most public libraries use a program called Overdrive and the NLS player will not likely read them, but NLS might be able to help if you call and ask.
