Oooh!  You could be right.  There might be a law to that regard.  I'll have
to do some digging.  We had a guy come here yesterday who answered a bunch
of questions.  He agrees that a speech chip in a remote would do the trick.
I'm going to call Fujitsu Tuesday.  We needed to get the model number for
our units which we have now.

I can operate the units somewhat as long as I remember where the settings
are.  If I lose sight of that, I'm done.  I'll let you know what we find out
after I call Tuesday.

Hi Anne,

I'm not the best legal guru, but isn't there some law that says that if it's
being purchased with public funds that it has to be accessible?  Is that
only in education, or does it apply here, too?  I'm wondering if there's
anything we can do to help you with advocacy.  It's a matter of principle.

Sorry to hear about your frustration, Anne. Since our heat pumps came
installed with new construction, there was no remote involved and only one
wall control for all areas. I think calling the manufacturer is an excellent
idea. Let us hear what if anything they can do to remedy this situation.

units.  I don't understand why the federal government insists on such
things.  I understand the technology and would like to use it appropriately
and could show others in the building how to use it if I could see.

We've talked to the director who is on my side but is completely baffled as
to how to solve the problem.  We haven't called Fujitsu yet but will later
today or tomorrow.

Like I said, I'm not trying to sound like an I rate blind idiot but these
things get my dander going.
