Wow, Beth, he has a really cool name! It almost looks like it comes from a foreign language or something. I'm surprised I didn't remember that.

I know we can always count on Ellen, and she does step up a lot. We could have people write nominations for all of the people we mentioned and let the committee decide who they like best.

But, of course, we will not fail. We will continue to climb. Our heritage demands it; our faith confirms it; our humanity requires it. Whatever the sacrifice, we will make it. Whatever the price, we will pay it. Seen from this perspective, the hostility and backlash (the challenges and confrontations) are hardly worth noticing. They are only an irritant. My brothers and my sisters, the future is ours. Come! Join me on the stairs, and we will finish the journey.

If the Louisiana person you're talking about is Eran? He was teaching at
the Louisiana center with mobility;. I will Ask Pam. I did see him last
year in Florida at our national convention a couple of times and would be a
good canadate too. Ellen over the last 16 years plus has always stepped up
to the plate to help and I feel has not been recognized. Beth

Justin,
Though Ellen is retired from the school district, she is by no means retired
from work with the blind and particularly our work in the Federation. Most
notably, of course, serving as the certified teacher for our BELL program...
And she has worked extensively with Cate on it, including seriously
exploring opportunities to have the program in the Bridgeport area.
Your other suggestions are excellent, too.
Nathanael
