Hello to all members & friends of the NFB of CT:

Yes, it certainly has been a hard cold winter. Cheer up, spring is just around the corner and hopefully all this snow will be gone in a few weeks! Soon the trees will be budding, the robins will be singing, the daffodils will be reaching for the sunshine, and of course, golf will come into play. Speaking of which, we are once again participating in the Travelers Championship Birdies for Charity fund raiser. You may be thinking that it’s much too early to think about our fund raiser, but really it’s not. Last year, we had a pretty poor response from our membership. We had only 23 donors out of 200 active paid members and maybe 25 friends contributing. This year, we are asking members to not only donate but to ask family members, friends and business associates to participate.

There are about 140 days until you would receive a bill for your 2015 pledge. If you put 7 cents a day or 50 cents a week in a jar, you should have enough for a $10.00 pledge come the billing date. Ask yourself honestly, is that too much of a hardship? Remember, with your pledge/donation, you are entitled to make a free guess of how many birdies will be made during the 2015 Travelers Championship, June 22-28. The first prize for guessing the exact number of birdies that are made is a $1,500.00 Visa gift card. By winning the first prize, our affiliate, the NFB of CT, will also receive a special bonus check in the amount of $500.00.

For those of you who have some gambling blood in your veins, to make it more exciting, you can make a pledge of 2 cents or more per birdie (times the number of birdies that are made). For example, if 1500 birdies are made and you pledged 2 cents a birdie, your pledge payment would be $30.00. You can pledge any amount you wish over the 2 cent per birdie minimum.

Our goal this year is to raise $4,000.00, so let’s get going. Remember, “He who hesitates is lost”.

How do you make a pledge/donation? It’s simple; there are several ways. The easiest way to make a pledge or donation is to call me at (203) 754-0211 or our NFB of CT outreach office at (860) 289-1971 and you can give us the needed information over the phone. The second option is to request a pledge form be mailed to you. Or, for those of you that are computer savvy, you can fill out your pledge form online by going to one of the following web site: <http://www.travelerschampionship.com/birdies-for-charity> www.TravelersChampionship.com/birdies-for-charity or directly to the donor pledge page at <https://events.r2it.com/birdies/DefaultPage/TravelersChampionship/Default.aspx?site=travelerschampionship&siteId=72.> https://events.r2it.com/birdies/DefaultPage/TravelersChampionship/Default.aspx?site=travelerschampionship&siteId=72.

Make your pledge now. You may call me at your convenience, any time between 7 A.M. & 10 P.M. Please note that I will be away from March 18th to 26th. During that time, feel free to either call our community outreach office at 860-289-1971 or <mailto:info at nfbct.org> info at nfbct.org, or Esther Levegnale at 203-753-5932 or <mailto:elevegnale at sbcglobal.net> elevegnale at sbcglobal.net.
