Attached is the job posting for the position of Library Specialist (Deputy Director) at the Connecticut LBPH. The closing date is March 16, 2016. We urge all interested qualified persons to apply. Please be very careful in completing the application as the human resources department is quite exacting. They'll reject applications for procedural - form completion errors and call it "failure to follow instructions".

I encourage a closer look at Connecticut. What you'll find can be surprising. Though it is a small state, it is in the heart of southern New England and in close proximity to a vast array of activities like no place else. Within a 3-4 hour drive, or less, on interstate highways, we have New York City, Boston, Newport RI, Cape Cod, Atlantic Ocean, New York's Adirondack Mtns, Vermont's Green Mtns and bucolic villages, New Hampshire's lakes and White Mtns, Maine's coast and wild wilderness (more like 5-6 hrs), and the Berkshires. Four distinct seasons, or as Mark Twain once said, "If you don't like the weather in New England now, just wait a few minutes". There's rich colonial history starting with the Pilgrims. And lobsters right off the boat.

Good luck!

Gordon Reddick
