Subject: [ATAP Members] Voting Accessibility Survey

As you may be aware, the Technical Guidelines Development Committee (TGDC), established by HAVA, has begun the process of updating the voting system guidelines.  These guidelines are used by most states to ensure that they provide an accessible voting system for voters with disabilities.  I am chairing the Accessibility and Usability Constituency Group and our first goal is to identify those “burning” accessibility issues that can and should be addressed by an a set of updated guidelines.  

The following link will take you to a very short survey that we hope will help us gather information about current voting accessibility barriers and prioritize issues to be addressed.

Please feel free to share this link with your sub-contractors or others who would be familiar with the accessible voting systems used in your state/territory and could identify issues or barriers to voters with disabilities being able to vote privately and independently.  While some access issues may be outside the scope of the TGDC, feel free to submit information on any barrier.  The more comprehensive the picture, the better.
