[Ct-nfb] My Birdies for Charity Pledge

Hi Gary,

I want to make this interesting. I really want to see Congressman and Congresswomen from Connecticut cosponsoring the TIME Act and Space Available. I love being able to brag about how my personal congressman, Congressman Joe Courtney, is the only legislator from Connecticut to cosponsor both bills, but I would much rather be able to brag nationally about how Connecticut is the first state to reach 100% cosponsorship.

I’ve been slacking off on making my pledge for Birdies for Charity, so I’m going to offer this:

For every person (need not be a member of NFBCT) who emails their Congressional office AND both Senate offices asking for co-sponsorship of these two bills, I will give a flat donation of $1 through this Birdies for Charity program. In order for me to know that you did this, I’ll need you to copy me on the email that you send. Since Jim McCollum is the Legislative Coordinator and Edward Shaham is the President, I would recommend copying both of them, as well. Also, every time I send something on either bill, I copy Derek Manners, our Government Affairs Specialist at the NFB for both bills. His email address is dmanners at nfb.org.

So it would basically be 3 emails for each bill that look like this:

To: Congressman John Doe / Senator Jane Doe
Cc: Edward Shaham, Jim McCollum, Justin “Moneybags” Salisbury, Derek Manners
Subject: Please Cosponsor HR #### / S ####

If you also live in Joe Courtney’s district, please thank him for cosponsoring.

That’s my promise. Since we’re already so good at doing our part in Connecticut, the Federationists in Connecticut ought to have no problem making me pay out over $100. If anyone else wants to join me in this same pledge, I will be proud to report how much I pay out.
