[Ct-nfb] Update on Space Available

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the update! I will keep communicating with my contacts at our Senators' offices. If it helps, I want to offer two things from my experience making calls the past few months:

First, when calling the switchboard, I have learned that calling Senator Blumenthal "Senator Dick Blumenthal" always leads the switchboard operators to transfer me to Dick Durbin, even if I tell them that he's from Connecticut. When I call him "Senator Richard Blumenthal," they transfer me to the right place. I guess there's only one Dick in the Senate!

Second, I just want to furnish everyone with the contact people I've been using at the offices so that folks can ask directly for them if that's useful.

For Senator Blumenthal's office: Katherine Bradbury

For Senator Murphy's office: David Seyferth 

Ironically, David has been much more responsive, but it makes sense that Katherine would be so busy if her boss is actually on the committee.

Hello, fellow Federationists. 
We are apparently making progress with the senate version of Space Available. We have senators on board with us, but the staff who write the legislation had some sort of technical problem with the language and it needs to be amended. 
The house version is fine, so there's no need to worry about it. 
We are asking members to contact their senators and ask them to co-sponsor S 2596, Space Available. An amendment to the bill is forthcoming, and I'll post more info as I get it from National. 
Senator Blumenthal is a member of the Armed Forces committee. Senator Murphy is not. However, please contact both and urge them to co-sponsor S 2596, and support its coming amendment, and to include this legislation in the National Defense Authorization Act.
