Bruce and Betty were the first people I met from the NFB CT. Bruce was so warm and welcoming and full of good humor. He lived a big life and touched many in a positive way. He will be missed. My condolences to Betty and Bruce’s family.

> Bruce Buchanan Woodward, 83, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Betty (Goodhue) Woodward passed away peacefully on March 6, 2018. Bruce was born on August 11, 1934 in New Jersey. He was the son of the late Norman and Mary (Kennedy) Woodward. At a young age his family moved to Wethersfield where he grew up and graduated from Wethersfield High School. Bruce earned a BA degree from Trinity College (Class of 1956). He then worked for his father at the Plibrico Company then working in the IT field at the Travelers Corporation, retiring after many years of service. Bruce served as Treasurer for the National Federation of the Blind of CT, was a longtime member of Civitan in Wethersfield, an extremely active member of First Church of Christ in Old Wethersfield and an active alumni of Trinity College. In addition he was the recipient of the prestigious Jacobus tenBroek Award. Bruce also had a passion for cars, especially the Morgan. In addition to his wife of more than 30 years, Bruce leaves stepchildren: Ellen Pacelli of CT, Maria Pacelli and her husband Bret Longgood of NH, Phil Pacelli of GA, Catherine Pacelli-Klinger and her husband Rob of NM and Andrew Pacelli and his partner Melissa Marcille of NH. He also leaves 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 at the First Church of Christ, 250 Main Street, Wethersfield. There will be no calling hours, burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Bruce's name can be made to the CT Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind, 477 Connecticut Boulevard, Suite 217, East Hartford, CT 06108. The D'Esopo Funeral Chapel of Wethersfield is assisting the family with the arrangements. For online expressions of sympathy to the family, please visit www.desopo.com.
