Notice of Public Hearing


 

The State of Connecticut, Department of Aging and Disability Services, Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind will be conducting a public hearing on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The hearing will be conducted at 184 Windsor Avenue, Windsor, CT. 

 

The purpose of the hearing is to offer the public, consumers, advocates, agencies and organizations an opportunity to review and provide comments pertaining to the Bureau’s Vocational Rehabilitation draft section of the Unified State Plan for the Workforce Development System in Connecticut. 

 

The draft updates are available for review as an attachment to this notice and at  <https://portal.ct.gov/AgingandDisability> https://portal.ct.gov/AgingandDisability, on the Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind main page and can be accessed through this link:  <https://portal.ct.gov/AgingandDisability/Content-Pages/Bureaus/Bureau-of-Education-and-Services-for-the-Blind> BESB VR Draft State Plan Section.

Print, Braille, and electronic copies of these documents will be available at the public hearing, or may be requested in advance of the hearing by contacting the Bureau at (860) 602-4008. Comments may be submitted in person or through teleconference at the public hearing, or may be submitted via email to:  <mailto:brian.sigman at ct.gov> brian.sigman at ct.gov; mailed to Brian Sigman, Bureau of  Education and Services for the Blind, 184 Windsor Avenue, Windsor, CT, 06095, or recorded onto voice mail at (860) 602-4008. To participate in the public hearing through teleconference, please call (860) 602-4008 at least two business days prior to the public hearing to obtain the call-in phone number and access code. All comments received prior to the close of business on Friday, January 17, 2020 will be fully considered in the final version of the State Plan update.
