I too was very sad to learn of Betty's passing. I'm sure, though, that she
is glad to be reunited with Bruce now.

Betty, and Bruce, was a wonderful, gracious, and kind leader. I only moved
to Connecticut in 2007, but beforehand living all the way out in California
and being a part of our National Federation of the Blind from there I knew
who they were. Friends and colleagues had worked closely with them, and
their love and leadership were well recognized. They received the
Federation's ten'Broek Award, our highest national honor to any member, in
2003 at our National Convention banquet, and I know who that Betty and Bruce
were though I hadn't yet met them.

When I came to Connecticut in 2007, they welcomed me at our state
convention-as did many of you on this list. They were incredibly generous
and kind and led with love. It was always Betty's love that struck me while
she served in leadership, always thinking of our members, staff, and people
in the community. Her generosity and love are examples to me and all of us.

It is a sad day in our state, Betty was a wonderful lady and president and
husband Bruce ,were a great match. So give someone a hug today. They are
together now. Let's keep all of our memories today and always. Charlie and
