Melissa,
I apologize if the message insulted or offended you. That was clearly not my intent. I did add Maryanne‘s name to the address line, and thought I had deleted the list serve name. It was intended for Maryanne only and I’ll publicly apologize for this. You should know that I have been a solid supporter of you, a cheer leader, as well as proudly served as a reference for your new position. Thinking that I would have intentionally harmed you should not have been a thought in your mind.
This is why I did not purposely mention your name. I thought that since these minutes were only released now, yes five months later, I thought that perhaps somebody else submitted and distributed them. Making sure it was that information during that board meeting is now being used against me. Without context to who said what and how, it makes it difficult for the truth to be recognized.
Not only am I battling a severe health crisis, but I am dealing with affiliate matters that are just as concerning. You’re correct, if it has some serious problems with confidentiality, but I submit that it goes well be on there with respect to many other things going on at present time. Many of what you are not aware of.
I was also disappointed when Maryanne announced you’re leaving for a new start a career without truly demonstrating sincere gratitude for all you have done on the list-Serve. She only mentioned your convention committee participation, but you have been a leader not only with the students, work within the affiliate. Your hard work on legislative issues, your Washington seminar participation, your work on the Federationisn’t, Prior conventions and committees, and simply, Prior conventions and committees, and simply as an up and coming leader at such a young age. I am proud of your accomplishments and that has always been made public.
The minutes also did not state who they were submitted by. Generally with all organizations I have been associated with, demands will be submitted and at the end it would say respectfully submitted by so-and-so. I do not blame you if you were not adequately prepared or made to understand what was your responsibility or how the minutes should be prepared and submitted.
Again apologizing here for any insight you may have felt against you and again wish you much excess in your new life and career.

Phil

Respectfully,
P.A. Magalnick,JP

When I was appointed as secretary by Maryanne last year after the position became unexpectedly vacant, I was not informed that this was a requirement. Through my training in college and the workplace, and through multiple secretary positions with the NFB , I was never criticized for this. In fact, I was told that this style makes my minutes much less cluttered, because it gets to the point. Perhaps you should develop training?
> I feel as though I gave a lot to the CT affiliate, and I was never thanked for it. I was only lashed out at on the list serve for something that, quite frankly, occurred about 5 months ago, and heard nothing about privately. Few people have the patience to pay wrapped attention for a three hour meeting. I hope that this affiliate can redirect sensitive conversations and have a discussion about what is appropriate to publicize in order to maintain professionalism and respect.

I am concerned that the minutes do not document who called the meeting to order, or ended it. Additionally, most of the comments and statements listed in the minutes are not provided with the context of who made the statements or commented. Minutes are supposed to be documenting what is said, and by whom. Of course, there a general discussions Which take place during such meetings, but without knowing who said what or started the conversation is extremely important two accurately documenting the minutes of the meeting.
