Update on the InsideOne Windows 10 Braille Computer

Hi, Everyone,

We hope your fall (or spring) season is beginning beautifully, and that you're staying safe and well.

Many of you may already have some familiarity with the InsideOne Windows 10 Braille computer by Insidevision. Mystic Access is one of the companies distributing this device, and we shared many of the highlights in our May event. <https://www.mysticaccess.com?newsletters_link=904f3370ff688862f35d658c2ae60530&history_id=108&subscriber_id=1204> We wanted to provide some important updates about the device, and address a few questions we've received.

For those that don't know, the insideOne is a Windows 10 highly portable computer with a built-in Perkins-style Braille keyboard and 32-cell display that, with both Braille and speech output, provides the opportunity for equal access to any Windows application.

At just under 3 pounds, the insideOne is unique in its design; the computer displays information in text, Braille, and simbraille simultaneously on a 10-inch touch screen, making this an ideal learning, teaching, and communication tool for both remote and in-person applications. It offers full-featured Windows 10 Braille computer capabilities, so if you have a program which you use and enjoy on your PC, you can install and utilize it on the InsideOne.

You can learn more information on the advantages, uses, and specifications of the insideONE by visiting this page. <https://www.mysticaccess.com?newsletters_link=04f80ddedff7ccf2942287b7686f625f&history_id=108&subscriber_id=1204>

Since our May event and other promotional appearances, we've received lots of questions from you about the InsideOne, and have attempted to address many of them via the FAQ and other materials available on the InsideOne resources page. <https://www.mysticaccess.com?newsletters_link=fcdf0e2c316cc079efddf50c5b1c6e2f&history_id=108&subscriber_id=1204> Our audio Quick Start Guide is also available to download from that page, with additional comprehensive audio documentation to follow by October 16.

Many of you have asked about ease of typing on the device, given the imbedded keys. We encourage you to listen to the audio Quick start guide to learn more about how typing can be implemented successfully. While this doesn't compare to having the device in your hands to play with typing yourself, Chris and I have done our best to explain and demonstrate the process for you. If you're unsure if typing on the glass screen will be comfortable or workable for you, we also include a roll-up silicone keyboard with the purchase of the InsideOne. Just plug it into the tablet's USB port and you can use it to begin typing right away without learning to type on the tablet itself.

Likewise, we've also received questions on the use of the sliders. (If you're unsure what I mean by "slider", check out the May event or Quick Start Guide on the resources page, as both audios describe them in detail. As with typing, we do our best to describe the sliders' use in the quick Start guide. The other important thing to note is that there are keystrokes which allow you to create the slider gestures, so you rarely have to use the sliders if you don't wish to.

Finally, many of you have written or called with concerns about the specifications of the device, and we absolutely understand. Here's where our important updates may make you feel more secure, and perhaps more curious or interested in checking out the InsideOne for yourself.

As with any technology product, especially where Braille is concerned, we have always found that the enthusiasm for the product grows once users and organizations become familiar with its capabilities. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has significantly reduced an opportunity to touch and engage with the product. There is, however, no substitute for "hands on" activity when it involves a Braille device. In recognition of this situation and in preparation for a transition to a more powerful new model in 2021, we would like to extend an opportunity for both consumers and organizations to become acquainted with this exciting Braille technology at a deeply discounted price.

Therefore, through the end of 2020, the insideOne can be purchased for $3,900.00 -a thirty percent discount off the retail price, while inventory lasts.

When the transition to a machine with significantly improved hardware specifications occurs, which will be in about six months, we will make units available to early adopters at an upgrade cost of only $500.00 per device.

This "road map" transition is the result of Insidevision’s close collaboration with GuideLights and Gadgets and Mystic Access, both owned and operated by blind entrepreneurs. This innovative partnership arrangement has allowed Insidevision to concentrate on manufacturing and distribution while taking advantage of their blind partners' over 100 years of combined expertise.

We believe this approach is unique in the blindness assistive technology field, and perfectly complements the need to adapt to an uncertain and evolving program environment and tight budgets.

For additional information about the InsideOne, please visit the product page. <https://www.mysticaccess.com?newsletters_link=04f80ddedff7ccf2942287b7686f625f&history_id=108&subscriber_id=1204> And, of course, don't hesitate to get in touch with us if we can answer any additional questions. We know this is a considered purchase, even at the best of times, and so we want to make sure you're comfortable with making that purchase and fully knowing about the product you'll receive.

Have a wonderful rest of your week, and thanks for reading. We'll be in touch with more exciting announcements next week.

Warmest Wishes,
Chris and Kim
