[CT-NFB] Spam Emails

It is possible that those individuals who are spamming the board members are doing so by scraping the email addresses from the affiliate website.

What I can try to do to help in this department is instead of publicly listing the email address to have a textual link that hides the email address but points to it.

 

For example:

“Email Maryanne Melley” will go to Maryanne’s email address

 

If this is what is requested of me to increase web security for everyone’s sake, I am willing to do so.

I will hold off until I get the go ahead from Maryanne. This could be done either only on the board page or on all pages that an email address is displayed.

Hi Maryanne,

Yes, I receive one or even two  of those emails every day...for the past week.

I report  them as spam but still receive them.   They are OBVIOUSLY not you but rather someone who is  "Phishing".

  I hope National NFB can help in some way.

First, I would never ask you to call me immediately, open a Venmo account, Purchase Apple or any other gift cards, My emails are always signed as this one is below. It does not vary. I have it set up this way on my computer and iPhone. Lastly, if you are ever in doubt, call me first. If the email says I am to busy to take your call, right there tells you it is spam. If you get one of these emails, delete it permanently from your computer. I have sent an email to president Riccobono requesting he have John Berggren look into tighter security on their behalf seeing as it seems to be board members that are getting these false emails.
