Greetings,

My name is Andrea Giudice and I am a member of the Windsor Connecticut
Lions Club. I am writing to tell you about a very exciting part of this
year’s celebration of Blind American’s Equality Day! Joining with other
Lions clubs throughout the country we are seeking entries for the *Lions
Clubs International Peace Essay Contest*

The theme of this year’s essay Contest is

*"Lead With Compassion"*

Created to give an opportunity for visually impaired young people to
express their feelings of peace, the International Essay Contest is a
staple of Lions clubs around the world. Lions work with local schools and
area families to identify young people who are interested in participating
and who could benefit from this program.

The contest is open to visually impaired youth between the ages of eleven
and thirteen. The age guide lines are very specific- any youth who will be
11, 12 or 13 years of age on November 15, 2022. (Eligible birthdates are
November 16, 2008 through November 15, 2011.)

Essays must be no longer than 500 words, submitted in English, typewritten
in black ink, and double spaced. One grand prize winner will receive $5,000
US dollars.

Complete information is available on the Lions International Website at
lionsclubs.org. Deadline for submission is October 25, 2022.

If you should have any questions, please reach out to Lion Cindy Daniels

President, The Windsor Lions Club

District 23B Leo Chair

District 23B Global Leadership Chair

I realize the deadline is not very far off, however, Blind American’s
Equality Day is very important to the Windsor Lions, and particularly to me
as I am blind and am proud to be part of the planning/hosting committee for
our club’s activities.

Please share this information with everyone you know who is a person of the
above mentioned age, knows someone of that age, or is able to share the
message with such!

Thank you for your time and interest.

Warm Regards,

Lion Andrea
