Subject: BESB mentor program- Taking applications

Dear potential mentors. For those who do not know me, I am Charlotte
Copenhaver and I am the Educational Projects Coordinator for BESB high
school transition program for high school students ages 14-22. The students
that I am working with are transitioning from high school into the world
beyond high school. I am starting a new mentor program for our students. If
you are getting this email it is because you have been recommended by your
counselor or TVI as a possible mentor to a student in our BESB transition
program. In the mentorship program you will be matched with a high school
student or up-coming college student, who has similar experiences or
interests as your own, and are looking for someone who can give them
guidance and support as they move along on their journeys. All mentors must
first complete the application which I have attached and complete a
background check through our volunteer department. During the application
process, I will have a phone conversation with you to get to know you and to
create a good mentor-mentee match for you with one of our students.
Specifically, I am looking for mentors who have either been through BESB
programs and have had some success or are currently still working with BESB
and have experience with our programs. Mentors should be strong role models
and have the interest and ability to work with our young people to help with
their development and give them guidance and support along the way.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor to one of our students, please
complete the application attached and send it to me. I will then send it on
to our volunteer coordinator, Lori St Amand to process the background check
and then I will contact you for a phone call discussion.

All my contact information is in the signature line below. Please do not
hesitate to contact me with any questions.
