Greetings NFB BELL® Coordinators:

Reminder! Don't forget about our next meeting, tomorrow, Thursday, February 16 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. We are going to discuss the evaluation of our NFB BELL Academy and specific outcomes for our children. Dr. Edward Bell, who serves as the department director of the Professional Development and Research Institute on Blindness at Louisiana Tech University, will be joining us to help brainstorm the assessment questions that we will use at the close of our programs this summer. The assessment can be found in the NFB BELL Academy curriculum. 

In preparation we ask that you think about the positive outcomes that you have personally observed of your kids. Specifically, how do you know that the children are learning, growing and benefiting from the NFB BELL program? Do you see tangible increases in their Braille code knowledge, better math skills, increased interest in STEM activities, greater confidence, or greater excitement about learning? It is these behaviors and outcomes that we wish to begin measuring to determine the effectiveness of our programs and we need your help.

Please come with notes and thoughts of the positive outcomes you have witnessed and learned from year to year.
