Dear Federation Family,

I received this email from Disability Rights Connecticut. Is includes a
survey for us to take and information on a focus group and town hall
meeting. All these items they are willing to help with if any of us need the
survey read or transportation. Please let me know if you are interested and
I will give Kasey a list of names.

"I hope this email finds you well! I believe our paths have tangentially
crossed through work our former Advocate, Marissa Rivera, has done on voting
access and our shared work with the National Federation of the Blind and Eve
Hill of Brown, Goldstein, Levy. I hope it's ok that I am reaching out
directly to you. As the President of the NFB's Connecticut Chapter, I
thought you'd be the best person to reach out to about our office's priority
setting process.

Forgive me if this is familiar information to you, as I believe the NFB-CT
chapter may have participated in our priority setting process last year.
Disability Rights Connecticut (DRCT) has a priority setting process that
helps us identify the disability rights issues the disability community
would like us to focus on for the upcoming two years. Right now, we're
hoping the disability community will provide input that will help DRCT
strategize and prioritize how it uses its resources to serve the needs of
the community. We have a survey available online that we'd love for you to
share with your members: https://www.bit.ly/DRCT2024-EngASL

I'm also wondering if your members would be interested in having a focus
group? A focus group would be a way for us to focus on the blind community's
input. It would include staff from DRCT meeting either virtually or
in-person (depending on the NFB CT chapter's preference) and reading the
survey aloud and taking notes on the discussion of chapter members as they
discuss and identify the disability rights areas that are the most important
to them. DRCT staff would get any language interpreters that are needed and
if there are reasonable accommodations members want to request, we'd be
happy to receive those requests. We've gotten CART transcription in the
past, enabled captioning, and since I know not everyone has a screen reader
or assistive technology DRCT staff can simply read aloud and write in the
responses for anyone who would like an opportunity to fill out the survey.

Lastly, I also wanted to extend an invitation to our Town Hall. It will be
July 19, 2023 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. If your members are interested in
attending, we'll be reviewing the input we've received from the disability
communities and receiving feedback from attendees if certain input doesn't
accurately reflect their community, would require additional consideration
for their community, or any other questions or concerns attendees want to
raise concerning our priority setting. There is more information, including
on how to register on our website: https://www.disrightsct.org/

If your organization has an interest in having a focus group, needs a
reasonable accommodation to complete the survey, or has any other questions
or concerns, please do feel free to reach out!

Thank you so much, "
